Cub Scouts!

Spencer is loving all the fun activities he's been able to do with the Cub Scouts, and to show that he is accomplishing things they have a Blue and Gold Banquet to get more badges (that I will have to sew on). He was really excited, and Preston and I were able to go and be there for him, since Tyler was down and out with his knee surgery when this happened. Tyler was really sad that he missed it.

Man, I love this kid.

The theme of their banquet was Problembusters.

So what each of the scouts had to do was come up with a project that would solve a problem that people would have. Spencer came up with The Reading Holder, because he reads so much. You see that blue and white checkered box? That's it!!! You can lean the book back on a reinforced tin foil back and then there are two little holders to hold the pages for you! I was really impressed that he came up with this, such a smart kid!!!! 

  

He also got his Bobcat patch! Way to go Spencer!! 

Singing...

We noticed that Preston would make a weird sound whenever there was music on, or if we were singing. Then in church one Sunday we realized that whenever we sang a song he would start doing this noise...he was SINGING! 

One night I had the song We Are Young by FUN. on and he just kept singing, so I got the camera out.

Preston

Taking pictures of Preston is fun. He's always so smiley. So, enjoy. 

One day Preston rolled over to the diapers, and then he figured out how to take the diapers out of the plastic wrapping. Fabulous!

Look what I can do mom!

He loves mirrors. We have a smaller one that he plays with and he will still give himself, the baby, kisses. It's adorable. 

Snow, Faces, Teeth

We got snow! We had FREEZING temps this winter, but not much snow, then we finally got some! So we had to go out in it....and have a small snowball fight. We bundled up Preston a lot, and we went out to Teardrop Park.

You can just see Tyler about to throw a snowball at Spencer, who is around the corner. I couldn't quite keep up with them. 

The two of them in a standoff. We didn't stay out too long, because it was REALLY FREEZING. But it was fun to be out in the snow for a little bit.

Preston started to figure out how to make faces, and they are pretty funny. 

He looks like he smells something weird, but is also angry about it.

The push out of the top lip. He's been doing that a lot more lately, and his bottom lip has now almost all the way disappeared from his upper lip coming over it.

Zoned out.

WE HAVE TEETH! He got both of his bottom middle teeth on the same day. It's been 3 months since this picture, and he is finally adding some more teeth. 

Bugging Brother

Spencer loves to play video games on the xbox online thing with his friends. Before Preston could crawl around I would bring him into the room where Spencer played and let him watch. Then he started kinda crawling and trying to get at Spencer. Pictures below explain.

And Spencer the whole time was just fine with it?!?! I for sure thought he would be mad, upset or something, but he wasn't. He just sat there calmly playing his game and moving around to get Preston off or make him laugh. Amazing. 

this is life right now...

Um, yeah, sorry about the long absence. Things got busy, Tyler had surgery, we had vacations....just busy. That's no excuse though, so here you go....I'm catching up!!!! You ready?? 

Over Christmas while in Utah we went and had family pictures done at Wayman Studios. Didn't they turn out AWESOME!!! I can't get over the pictures he took, they were all awesome. 

One of my most favorite things now is watching Spencer and Preston play together. I wasn't sure how Spencer would handle a new person in the house but he is REALLY loving it, even though Preston cannot do much in the playing department. 

I think they both enjoy having each other to play and be silly with. 

Preston has figured out hide and seek...well kinda. One day he was kicking away and he kicked half of his play mat over!! There are arches over it and he hit them and so it fell. Once it did he just laid there and did nothing. 

Until I lifted up one half and said "peek a boo!" then he started smiling. After that point, we were able to play this game multiple times a day. 

Last picture, and it's a sweet one. One night we were watching a movie, and Preston was just too tired to stay awake. He fell asleep in dad's arms all cute and cuddly. 

Designing in New York

I'm back, and no we did not take a full month off for our little Spring Break, I just came back and didn't get into the swing of things. But here we are, and I'm ready to catch up (again) and share some more things about this amazing city we live in. 

I have met some really amazingly creative people while living here. One of which is a girl that goes to our church and we have become friends. She is beautiful, creative and just so kind (really, she has the kindest heart ever)! Her name is Taylor, and she will someday be making the clothes that you all will love to have. Taylor is a fashion/clothing designer!! She is SO talented in this area that I am baffled at all that she makes. She makes these amazing dresses that I drool over, and hope and wish that she will mass produce or at least sell so I can have them. I love black and white, and thankfully she does too, so her dresses are my favorite. Here is her latest design that she is modeling. 

Gorgeous? YES! 

New York is a city of many fashions. Some people don't quite get it and do their own unique thing (which sometimes it does work), but others are really into fashion and look like this daily. I am not a fashionista, but I love seeing the things Taylor comes up with. If you want to see all of her other creations and follow her life in NYC as well, here is her blog!
