Graduating and Progressing

This was at Preston's little graduation party. Where they got certificates from their teachers on completing the year. He did a good job!

On the day Preston had his first field day he was coughing like a seal, so I knew something was up. Preston has this thing where he gets a REALLY AWFUL cold every January, and he'll end up having to have his breathing treatments to help his lungs out. Well, I wasn't going to take any chances with this bad cough so I took him to the doctor. Sure enough he probably was starting with croup! So we got meds and started the breathing treatments to get rid of it. The funny thing is, he didn't AT ALL look like he was sick. He was happy and his regular self.  

Doing his treatment, luckily he remembered how to do it and was able to help keep it in place.

Preston got a haircut! I loved it. 

Still doing his breathing treatments. He has to do them 2-3 times a day for up to 5-7 days. Our nebulizer is the little dog you see, and after he is done we always pat the dog on the head and say, "good job doggie!". 

Spencer's progression ceremony! That is him getting his certificate of completing fifth grade from the principal. The backwards 22 is for the year they will graduate...which is too close for me. 

Spencer's teacher handed out in his classroom individual certificates that represented each student. No surprise here, Spencer got the Minecraft Fan award.

To celebrate we went out to see Inside Out in the fancy theater...the one with the reclining seats!

Field Trips

Preston had his first field trip with his class to a farm!!! I drove over to help out and he got off the bus(which he wanted to ride in in forever!) and started crying because he thought I was there to take him back home!!! He wouldn't stand near me at all, at least a 7 foot distance between us.

Riding the tractor!! This was his favorite part of the field trip. He loves any kind of vehicle, and was thrilled he got to be on this one by himself.

Then Preston put a bowl on his head....this was a theme for a while. He loved having bowls on his head and putting them on Spencer's head.

Next field trip was going down to Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg. We knew we would be moving down there, so this trip was to get the boys excited!! It was Memorial Day weekend, and as soon as I picked the boys up from school we headed down south....in this traffic!!! Luckily it only added on an extra 45-60 minutes. 

Arriving at the Lodge!! The boys were SO excited! The Great Wolf Lodge has an indoor water park!!! Which the boys spent the majority of our time in, Preston couldn't get enough of it. I mean, they hardly ate or slept because they wanted to just be at the water park.

There is also another game there in the Lodge called MagiQuest. You have to go around the Lodge and find clues. I did this with Spencer and we were going up and down stairs and every which way for at least 1.5 hours! It was fun though and Spencer was pretty smart knowing where everything was. The boys are holding the wands you use during the game. 

Back home and relaxing...and getting snuggles. 

Preston wanted to wear this hat to school one day....a day that was 80 degrees! Luckily he took it off before we left, but he was pretty insistent on keeping it on.

Soon we had Uncle D come and visit us! He had some training for his job to do in DC and would come and spend the weekend with us! We loved having him around and Preston really took to him. It was very cute.

Springtime

In the springtime we didn't do too much, except I watched all the NCAA March Madness basketball games I could! Yes, I even put up multiple screens so I could watch all games in progress. I absolutely love this time of year and LOVE the excitement it brings. Go UNC!!

We found out we would be moving and put our town home up for sale. It was sad to know that we would  be leaving soon, especially with such AMAZING neighbors. It was a good little place. 

Preston was ending his 6 months at his preschool and the teachers made this adorable calendar for them to give their moms for Mother's Day!!! It was the BEST gift I could have gotten from him. Pictures on every page at school and looking at the camera.

One day we had to leave the house so people could look at it, so we went for a walk and found a ton of caterpillars. I don't think Spencer has ever held one (not very many in Africa or New York) and Preston hadn't either so mom started teaching them how to put their hands down so the caterpillar could crawl onto them. Some caterpillars were thrown because of the tickles they gave the boys' hands, but none were hurt...too badly.

They do really love to snuggle with each other, and I love it when they do, but it never lasts for too long. 

Because then they are doing this. Preston got a pillow from the couch and slammed it down on Spencer. Ah, boys. 

I Hope They Call Me On a Mission

My parents decided to go on a mission together for our church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints! We were thrilled for them. They got the call to serve in the Family and Church History Church Headquarters Mission in Salt Lake City, UT. They will be serving for at least a year but can extend if they would like to. 

Here they are at the MTC (Missionary Training Center) in Provo, UT at the map that all missionaries show where they are going. They left in April and have been doing an awesome job! We miss them lots, but know they are doing the work the Lord needs them to do.

I think it's so funny when he just walks around in his diaper. He had a short time there when he didn't want to wear pants. 

Again....just relaxing in the diaper. 

One night I asked Preston to help me and to get a bowl out for me. I was turned to the stove and when I turned around this is what I saw. He did get out a bowl for me....well 7 bowls. At least I knew he was listening and understanding me. 

Preston wanted to help cook one night. So he poured into his bowl things he liked to eat and stirred them up. I think he liked it.
