Perhaps the title to this post should be "Preston's Antics".

Not even kidding, this kid gets into a lot every day, and doesn't stop moving it seems. Maybe he does stop, but not long enough for me to catch up. He seems to zoom by things and a mess is left behind. True story: Tyler stayed home with him one day and was amazed by how much Preston got into during the day…I told him this is what happens every day. But no matter what he does he is having fun and being cute, so I can handle it. 

Let's start with the fun! We have these super hero masks, and Preston used to be scared of them, but then we would put them on and laugh and giggle. So then he thought they would be fun. Here he is being the Hulk.

Yes we do house Captain America. 

Yes, he is smaller in real life.

Oh my happy, cute boy. Lunchtime is fun with him! We dance, talk, giggle and eat. 

I'm still baffled at how babies squat like this. I just watch him, and then he stands right back up! My knees would be dying.

We read our scriptures most nights, and Preston will walk around and play with toys while we are reading. This night he sat down right by dad and clicked on his calculator while listening.

I think he might think it's a phone too. 

Second trip to the ER in two months!!!! Fell down our foyer stairs (luckily there are only 3) and busted his head open right in the middle. He is now very weary of those stairs…thank goodness!!!

"Hello? Hello?" He loves to talk on the phone…and anything and everything becomes a phone for him.

Yep, don't know how he got back there. He likes the feather duster thing, and will dust the blinds for me. I teach them young. But he also likes to play with the vacuum cleaner and pull off the bucket of gross stuff…yay?

Another night of reading scriptures and he just laid down and laid there for at least 5 minutes without moving!!! Didn't fall asleep, but I think he was tired. 

Halloween

Halloween 2013!

Spencer was chosen for one of the games at his class party. It was boys against girls, they had to use 8 rolls of toilet paper to wrap the person….let's just say the boys were just throwing things around and the girls actually looked like a mummy. 

This year, to save a little money, I decided to MAKE the costumes?!!? It seemed overwhelming, but I did it! Spencer wanted to be Finn from Adventure Time, and since his sidekick is a dog named Jake, I thought Preston would be great for that! For Spencer's costumes I only had to make his hat…not too difficult. Preston I had to make shirt and pants and hat…a bit more difficult for a novice sewer! Here are all my parts cut out….yes, what goes where???

Here's the finished product!!! Doesn't look too bad! Now Preston's shirt was a little small, and his pants a little big…BUT what can you do?

And here are our Jake and Finn. They had a blast trick or treating and brought home WAY too much candy we are still trying to get rid of! 

Carving Pumpkins

After having the pumpkins sit outside on our porch for a few weeks, we decided it was time to carve them!!! Can you believe that we've NEVER carved pumpkins??? It's true. So we all took different routes in what our pumpkins looked like.

Finished products!!! Tyler's scary pumpkin. I freehanded the design and he carved where I made marks and made some improvements on the carving with adding some slashes on the sides of the pumpkin. 

Preston's. 

Mine. Yep, just did a traditional one. 

Spencer and his vampire pumpkin, with a hole in the forehead, and the little one is Lord Voldermort. 

Tyler's all lit up. It was pretty cool looking, and even on the slashes on the sides you could see some light coming through.

We had lots of fun doing this, and will definitely do it again. 

Pumpkin Picking

Since this was the first year in a long time that our family was actually living in the suburbs and had plenty of farms around to choose from to go get pumpkins for Halloween, we took a Saturday and had fun! 

It was a little chilly, and so we dressed up Preston in his cute outfit from Grandma…and Spencer photobombed the picture.

We found a place about 30-45 minutes away, and it was great!!! Excuse all the pictures, but Preston had a little bit of a photo shoot while we were there. 

And here are the results.

One of Spencer's requirements for the place we were going to, it had to have a corn maze!! This one did! So we broke off into teams of Spencer and I, whereas I was too slow, because I didn't run in the mud to beat Dad and Preston. 

It wasn't a great maze, because it was pretty much a circle with cut-throughs throughout. Spencer is confused.

It had other activity stuff for kids to do, like the giant spiderweb.

And a huge jumping/bouncing thing that was in the ground!!! It was crazy big and Spencer loved it!

It also had a little ride for the kids. We didn't want Preston to not have fun, so Tyler got in and held him. 

Then came the COOL stuff. HUGE guns to shoot pumpkins out of it so you could hit targets, hay bales, and a truck out in the field!!!!!

Finally came the pumpkin picking! We went on one hayride where we got to pick baby pumpkins. Perfect size for baby hands. 

Then we got to pick out the big ones! 

Such a cutie!!

We got our pumpkins and headed home. 

It was fun to go off and do this as a family, we'll definitely be doing it again next year!  

Birthday and Baby

September we celebrated Tyler's birthday!!! We were still trying to move in, so his cake came from Cold Stone! YUM! He's happy about it I think.

September was also filled with exploring!!!! Preston was walking now and so he was everywhere, and playing with all kinds of things. 

I love this picture because of the little curl of hair. Too cute!

We found an umbrella hat (that I did not know we owned), so he liked putting that on his head.

Playing in the kitchen while mom unpacked was done a bit too. 

When we were watching the LDS General Conference on TV, every time the Mormon Tabernacle Choir came on, Preston started dancing to whatever they sang! He was enthralled with them.

Climbing in the toys. He was quite excited with himself that he figured this out.

Some quiet moments were had too.
