Blue Bloods anyone?

In New York City we have a lot of movies and TV shows being filmed in the streets and around town. Sometimes we are lucky enough to have them come down to our part of town and film on the streets around our apartment building. The ones we have seen signs for have been Gossip Girl, Blue Bloods, an independent film that Richard Dreyfuss was in, and also a film that Leonardo DiCaprio is in. Leo lives in one of the buildings near us and often is seen on the streets, I have yet to see him, but people say that he is hard to recognize. 

On this day we saw that Blue Bloods would be filming right up our street, in fact I could see it from our apartment window! Since it was a hot day, and Spencer didn't want to go out to stand around I took the pictures from our living room window. 

Here they are setting up a scene. I don't watch Blue Bloods, so I have no idea if any actors were down there, I didn't see anyone dressed in a cop uniform.

The taxi was apart of the scene. 

So many people to get one little scene prepared, and well lit. 

And "Action!" This guy went to the trash can, and put something in it, and kept his hands up, and then got into the cab. I saw him do it maybe 3 or 4 times.

Exciting stuff huh? It would be, but really it took them all of 3 minutes to film this scene, and half the day to get it ready! Now I know what actors really do....sit around and wait.
